The above is a picture of the Catoctin High School Unified Track Team at a recent meet at Oakdale High School. The team did an outstanding job. Not only is the picture a team photo, but it is definitely a circle of friends. The Unified Track Coach is Ms. Stonesifer.
The Envirothon teams did very well at the county competition this week. The 1st team of Eric Stone, Amelia Poole, Matt Thompson, Julia Steinly, and Diana Burch won 2nd place overall and 1st in the Soil Category, 2nd in Forestry and Aquatics, and 3rd in the Fifth Issue. The 2nd team of Courtney Wilcom, Abby Greco, Hunter Krantz, and Hannah Stone won 6th place overall. The alternate team members - Makayla Rexroth and Sydney Reaver - did better than two other schools' regular teams. Congrats to the students! The Envirothon Advisor is Ms. Wells.
If you see the following students, please congratulate them on a great showing at the 2012 FBLA State Leadership Conference at the Hunt Valley Marriot this past Thursday, Friday, and Saturday. Rebecca Bittner, Taylor Gordon, and Annabel Nichols placed 3rd in Business Plan. They missed the chance to compete at the National conference by only one spot. For their event, they had to submit an official business plan and do a formal presentation to Maryland business professionals. Ask them about their "Krazy Kakes Bakery" business. Brian Sweeney placed 5th in Healthcare Administration. Alexus Hess was our voting delegate. Maryland has over 3100 FBLA members. Our students were among 800 of the top FBLA members from across the state competing this past weekend. Congratulations to all. The FBLA advisor is Ms. Campbell.
The Catoctin FFA chapter had wonderful results on April 24, 2012 at our state FFA judging contests at College Park.
